Composting At Home

Composting at home couldn't be easier with our step by step guide below.

Did you know that you don't need a garden to compost? Read on to find out more.

Composting is a cheap, easy and a natural process; it’s nature’s way of recycling.

Composting is a no cost solution, to maintaining your garden. It's easy on your pocket, as home compost is an ideal replacement for expensive shop-bought compost.

Mother Nature does all the hard work for you. After about a year, you will have a nutrient rich fertiliser which is good for your garden and your plant pots. It will improve your soil structure, maintain the soil moisture and PH balance and will even help to suppress plant disease.

Composting your organic waste greatly reduces your environmental impact. Many shop-bought compost is peat-based, the extraction of which has a negative impact on the environment, so making your own compost at home helps to avoid this. What’s more, when waste is composted at home, oxygen helps the waste to decompose ‘aerobically’, a process which produces hardly any methane. That is good news for the planet!

Did you know?

Composting at home for just one year can save global warming gases equivalent to all the CO2 your kettle produces in a year, or your washing machine produces in three months.
