What Else Can I Do?
We shape our environment by the choices we make.
Across Greater Manchester, we have a choice on how to deal with unwanted items in a way that suits our lifestyles. All of our waste will need disposing of and the best way to deal with it, is to reduce the amount we produce in the first place. There are lots of simple actions we can all take to make a real difference:
Reducing the amount of waste we create – This is the most environmentally friendly option. For example, buying fruit and vegetables loose, looking out for items with little or no packaging and opting out of junk mail.
Re-using items as many times as we can before we think about recycling or disposal - For example, re-using glass jars as storage containers, using real nappies or donating unwanted furniture to charity.
