The Waste Experience education centre is an exciting place to visit and learn about waste and recycling in Greater Manchester .

The facility has :

• A 40 seater auditorium for presentations
• An interactive display area
• A classroom which can accommodate a full class
• Welfare facilities including toilets and kitchen

Visits incorporate a site tour of Bolton Thermal Recovery facility where you will be able to follow the process of residual waste through the tipping hall, furnace and energy from waste / electricity generation. You will see how the process is carefully controlled to minimise environmental impacts.

Visits are suitable for community groups and school groups with a minimum age of 7 years ( year 3 and above for school parties).
