Visitors to the Bredbury site in Stockport will see where non-recyclable waste is separated, digested and energy recovered to generate electricity join in with interactive activities looking at how waste is treated in Greater Manchester.
The facility has:
• An on site, purpose built classroom which can accommodate a full class
• Waste awareness displays and resources
•Welfare facilities including toilets and kitchen
Visits will incorporate a site tour of the Mechanical Biological Treatment where you will see how non-recyclable waste is separated, digested and energy recovered to generate electricity. There will also be an opportunity to find out how garden and food waste collected from your home is turned into high quality compost in just 6 weeks
Visits are suitable for community groups and school groups with a minimum age of 7 years ( year 3 and above for school parties).
