The choices we make when making purchases can have a substantial effect on the environment.
This activity looks at why it is important to consider a number of factors when purchasing a fruit drink. Environmental and waste issues are explored, but consideration is also given to convenience, practicality and aesthetic appeal of the packaging.Basing this exercise on the Top Trumps game provides an exciting and engaging activity.
Ages
This activity is recommended for school year 5 (age 9-10) and above. It’s great for adults too, it really brings out competitive streaks!
How to make up the cards
Print the cards and instructions double sided (flip on long edge) on A4 sheets, preferably on thin card or thicker paper to prevent cheating. Laminating them adds to the durability, and makes the cards easier to play with. They are specifically designed to be large enough to be shared by a group of up to 5 people.
