Waste Education Visits and Resources 

Our dedicated team of Waste Education Officers offer free, high quality, fun and interactive visits for classes or groups within  the Greater Manchester contract area.  These visits are supported by our on line resources consisting of a selection of materials designed to help you with waste awareness education.

 Visits 

• learn about waste and recycling
• consider how you can reduce waste
• understand and see at first hand the different technologies that we use to treat your waste 

 We have four waste education centres:

                                                                   Bolton  -  at our Thermal Recovery Facility 

 Pilsworth in Bury -  at a Landfill and waste to energy site

 Sharston in Manchester - at our Materials Recovery Facility (recycling sorting centre)

 Bredbury in Stockport- at our In Vessel Composting and Mechanical Biological Treatment Facility

Resources

Our Pick your Way through Waste programme  offers a pick and mix of activities that can be used to support a topic of waste and recycling. The programme follows a logical order. The activities and knowledge are based on the waste solution for Greater Manchester, it is what actually happens to waste in Greater Manchester.
