Where to recycle your real Christmas tree in Rochdale

At home - In your food and garden recycling bin (don’t forget to remove any decorations,
chop the branches up so they are no thicker than your wrist and make sure its inside your bin with the lid fully closed).

At any Recycling Centre across Greater Manchester

Your Recycling Centres

You have two Recycling Centres in Rochdale, where you can take many household items for recycling. 

You can also dispose of your non-recyclable items and where possible they will be used for energy recovery.

Mon - Sun 08:00-18:00

(Open as usual on Bank Holidays)

 

Closed on Christmas Day (25th December) and New Year's Day (1st January)

Vehicle Height Restrictions

If your vehicle is over 2 metres you will not be able to access the Recycling Centre. You can still recycle and dispose of your waste via a facility with a weighbridge. The nearest weighbridge is at Arkwright Street, Oldham.

Please ensure you take some form of identity as a householder (e.g.council tax bill) as you will asked to present this at the weighbridge.

If you are using a hire vehicle please ensure you have your hire vehicle documents with you as you may be asked to produce them.

This is because the weighbridge is primarily used for trade waste which is chargeable.
