Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC)
 

From Monday 3rd May 2010 the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Rose Hill, Marple,will CLOSE for redevelopments, reopening in early January 2011.

Users are advised to use the Bredbury HWRC or the Torkington Road HWRC.

This HWRC is being redesigned and extended onto land already within the site boundary. The redevelopment will offer improved facilities and will allow better waste separation, increasing recycling levels at the site. Site efficiency will be improved with the introduction of a dual level layout, separating operational and public vehicles therefore making traffic movement through the facility much easier. The queuing capacity will be increased on-site to reduce off-site queuing on Railway Road.

Groundwork preparations are currently ongoing

The Torkington HWRC will be retained until the new Rosehill HWRC is fully operational in early January 2011.
