Our Waste Solution

1.3 million tonnes of waste will be handled each year and we will be building on the past successes of Greater Manchester which has seen a rise from 7% recycling in 2002/03 to over 30% today.

 

This new way of treating your waste will ensure an impressive recycling rate of at least 50% by 2015, and will also divert more than 75% of waste away from landfill. It will provide a world class solution for Greater Manchester’s household waste, serving approximately 973,000 households (AGMA, 2009) and a resident population of over 2.27 million.
