Recycle for Greater Manchester is running a recipe competition which is open to everyone in greater Manchester, aged 16 and over who is passionate about food. So if you have your very own left overs recipe, Recycle for Greater Manchester wants to hear from you. The winning recipes will be collated into a Greater Manchester LFHW Cookbook. To take part in the Love Food Hate Waste Recipe Competition, residents of Greater Manchester can visit www.recycleforgreatermanchester.com/my-LFHW-recipe and upload their recipe. Alternatively, residents can post their entry to the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority. Love Food Hate Waste (LFHW) is a national campaign which provides practical advice to help us make the most of the food we buy. In Greater Manchester the campaign is working in partnership with the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority, Viridor Laing (Greater Manchester) Limited and all 10 district councils of Greater Manchester (including Wigan) to deliver road shows and events. The competition is open until 23rd July 2010 so there is still plenty of time to tell us about your favourite left over recipe. Emma Marsh, from Love Food Hate Waste, said: “We can save around £50 a month simply by using the food we have already bought. This competition intends to highlight how easy it is to use left overs and still have great tasting food at no extra cost.” The winners will be presented with a LFHW food rescue pack including their very own copy of the Greater Manchester LFHW Cookbook. One overall winner, who has submitted the best recipe, will have the opportunity to go to the Key 103 studios, receive a Key 103 goodie bag and meet DJ Sam Walker! The overall winner will also receive a free cookery class and meal for 2 at Ning, a Malaysian Restaurant and Cookery School in central Manchester.
