Furniture Success at Lumns Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre

Residents in Salford have donated an impressive 93 items weighing 1.56 tonnes in the first three weeks of the reuse pilot scheme at Lumns Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Salford. The HWRC has been accepting donations of good quality unwanted furniture for re-use since the first week in March. This six month pilot project is being delivered in partnership with Viridor Laing (Greater Manchester) Limited (VLGM), Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority (GMWDA) and CT New to You. 

So if you are updating your furniture or thinking of having a spring clean then why not donate your unwanted items at Lumns Lane. All donated furniture is collected by CT New to You, a charity based in Salford committed to supporting the community. By donating your furniture you will:
• help reduce the number of items that go to landfill
• help others in your local community by providing them with second-hand goods

Donating second – hand goods promotes a sustainable lifestyle and there are many unwanted items accepted for donation including tables, chairs and sofas.
